Are Paracetamol And Mefenamic Acid Safe While Trying For Pregnancy?
Question: Hi we r planning for child so we had the sex in ovalution days my next period date is in 22april it was on 22march last time usually my periods are always be 2days before I had a fever from last 3days normal crocin is not working on that so I took maftal 250in the morning after 10min I little vomited .iam in tantion now may be I am pregnant so it will harm my baby. I have already one 10year son

Hi,
First of all, do not panic.
As you might be aware that in a woman with a regular cycle, day 10 to 20 of the cycle is the most fertile period of the cycle.
If you happen to have unprotected sexual activity in this period then you stand a good chance to get pregnant.
Secondly, Tablet Paracetamol and Mefenamic acid, both are quite safe in pregnancy.
As such even if you are pregnant, organ formation starts 24 days after the ovulation, means 6 weeks from your last menstrual period.
So even if you are pregnant now, there is no need to worry.
In my opinion, your vomiting can be due to gastritis induced by Mefenamic acid.
I will suggest you wait for your expected date of menses.
If you happen to cross your dates, please get morning's first sample of urine tested for pregnancy.
In case of any doubt blood, beta HCG test and USG will be of help.
