Question: i had a god bite and had antirabies vaccine on day o, day 3 and due for day 7 . should i stopped now receiving vaccine since the dog has no rabid symptons. I also received tetanus shot on day o

Hi,

It is good news that the dog has no rabies and this is confirmed. This doesn't mean you should stop the vaccination process.

I encourage you to do so as to be protected against any future dog bites and bites from any other animals that can cause rabies.

If you were to stop now without completing the vaccination, you would still not be immunized and protected against future unfortunate bites.

In all, complete the vaccination.

Hi,

I don't know the exact schedule they are using at your hospital/clinic as there are multiple.

However, make sure you complete the vaccination series to be protected against rabies for life.

The regular doses in persons with the good immune system are administered on days 0, 3, 7 and 14. Day 28 is only added for people whose immune system is weak.
