Are Belches Related To COPD ?
Question: I have COPD, Is heavy burbing and release of air in lungs related
Brief Answer:
not usually linked
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Burping refers to air coming out of the gastrointestinal tract (throat, esophagus, stomach, intestines) which would be different from air exiting the lungs or any other aspect of the respiratory tract (trachea, bronchi etc).
Burping is normal to some extent but if it is excessive then it may be due to: (1) acid reflux
(2) constipation
(3) use of gas producing foods eg broccoli, cabbage, turnips, beans, cauliflower, prunes, carbonated drinks
(4)lactose intolerance
(5)intolerance to other foods
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
