Are Blood Transfusions Possible Between O And AB+ Blood Groups?
Patient will develop transfusion reaction.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Person with O blood group will not have any antigen A and B. But he will have antibodies against both A and B antigens.
Person with AB blood group will have both A and B antigens.
So when AB + blood is given to O blood group patient, donor's antigens (Aand B) will react with antibodies present in recipient 's blood.
This will definitely cause mismatch reaction.
So if you are having O blood group and you have received AB +then possibility of transfusion reaction is more.
So discuss about this possibility with your dermatologist.

No blood group does not change with age.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your follow up question on HCM.
No, blood group does not change with age. It remains same through out the life. But with ageing reaction to mismatch transfusion are decreased. So even if you were given wrong blood, due to old age, reactions are reduced. And yes, dermatologist was right.
If mismatch transfusion is the cause then it would have to occur immediately, not this later.
So your current symptoms are unlikely due to mismatch transfusion.
