Are Cough, Fever And Headache Indicative Of A Viral Infection?

Question: hi my ma wants me to visit a doctor or er since it is sunday however I have work today and no sick hours to get out. My doctor seen me two days ago. and two days before that. things started Thursday the 28 where I seemed to have developed a tickle in my lungs that gave me a cough and I thought I might've had a fever at night because I was freezing and couldn't warm myself up. I also had a slight headache. as the days went by my stomach became sensitive and I tossed my cookies a few times. I spent the weekend with my bf who treated me as though I wasn't sick enough to stay away from. At one point I thought I was feeling better except for slight headache and the sensitive stomache. He wanted a bj and I was hesitant cuz I wasn't 100% yet. I still ended up doing it. I spit it out in sink after and there was yellow mucusy spots in it. I rinced my mouth and stuff but didn't say anything to him about it. I looked up yellow in semen and didn't find much to worry about. however then I started developing a sore throat so on the 3rd I went to my dr. he looked me over and said everything seemed viral. he gave a strep test and it came back negative. my orders were to put up w it till it goes away on its own. the next day it got worse while everything else was better. then the 5th I went back into the docs because it was hard to swallow and sleep because of it. they gave me the strep test again and it was negative. then she looked in my mouth and said she definitely seen all telltale signs of strep. she did a strep throat culture that time which I haven't gotten results on yet. she put me on antibiotics and asked if I was vaccinated for mumps as a kid. idk. she told me she was concerned because of how swollen my glands were. I told her about the bj and because the sore throat came last, only after that, she ordered bloodwork to check for ghonnoreah and clamidia and I guess mumps too. I now feel much better from the sore throat after antibiotics. however, my tonsils and uvula feel really swollen so I talk a little funny and it bugs me as I try to sleep. my glands are still swollen too. my question is should I do an er visit.... try to get out of work today or tomorrow, or should I expect this to pass and just wait to hear from my doc on results, or make an apt again on my first day off, Wednesday if things aren't better?

Brief Answer:
Wait for the results

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in HCM

I read carefully your history and i can understand your concern

According to the history you explain i don't think this is a situation to go to er .

I reccommend you to wait the results of the test and continue the current treatment the doctor has prescribed for you.

I think that this is a viral situation which will soon pass.

If you will feel better with the passing time than nothing to worry about if not than you can make another appointment with your doctor for probably further examinations.

I wish a fast recovery for you
