Are Creases Above The Nipples While Lying Down And Lifting The Arms A Concern Related To Extra Growth In The Breasts?
Question: I never knew you were supposed to examine the look of your breast. I have only done self exams looking for lumps. Recently I've noticed that when I lay down and put my arm over my head an crease appears above the nipple (the same spot on each breast in the same location). It doesn't appear when I stand or sit or lower my arms. For all i know it could have always been like that. I have felt no lumps of any kind.
Brief Answer:
Normal physiological look up, not pathologic condition of breast.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
* As per my surgical experience, the look of areola in particular position is normal physiological change rather than pathology.
* If there is underlying abnormality, you can see such changes in any of the position and all the times.
* I would like to know whether you have undergone screening mammography previously anytime or not?
At present, I recommend just not to become panic and keep observing the external as well as internal changes in both breast by self examination periodically.
Please feel free to ask follow up question for further clarification. Wish you fine health.
Regards
