Are Elevated Uric Acid Levels Signs Of Gout?
Question: Would high uric acid cause symptoms prior to causing gout? My levels have been between 9.9 and 10.6 over the past two months.

This can also occur if there is a rapid turnover of cells in the body. The best way to reduce this is to reduce the intake of read meat. Also, alcohol educes excretion of uric acid and can caused increased levels in the system. Most increased levels are silent and generally have no associated symptoms.I will say reduce meat intake and alcohol consumption and get it controlled in another two months.

Given that I rarely drink, less than once a year; keep red meat intake to once or twice a week, and I am not diabetic nor do I have renal failure; what would cause this high level of uric acid?
