Are Fatigue, Edema, Joint Pain And Anxiety Signs Of Lupus?

default
Posted on Wed, 10 Feb 2016
Question: My daughter (age 49) was told she had 4 of the 5 symptoms for Lupus a while back. Over the last year or so - her pain has been almost unbearable yet she has not found a physician that will help her. Cannot even get any pain medication prescribed to help with the pain. Her joints are extremely painful - she has edema - heavy fatigue - feels a lot of sadness and hopelessness - We don't know where to turn. She is in tears most of the time - having a very hard time doing her job (bookkeeper & payroll specialist). Any suggestions for us? She really needs help and right away - it is very hard for a mother to see their child in pain all of the time. Would appreciate any assistance you can give. xxxxxxxxx(daughter, XXXXXXX Txxxxxxn)

Brief Answer:
Is it lupus

Detailed Answer:
Good evening

Thank you for writing on health care magic

I have gone through your history and can understand your concern. But what I didnt get was is that she had symptoms of lupus a year back, then why wasnt she investigated further. Leaving lupus alone( if it is lupus, is like leaving a bull open , free to do anything it wants).

I would like to help you in the best possible way I can, but I would like to know a few more details?

1. Does she have morning stiffness in the joints?

2. When you say edema, is it her legs or the whole body?

3. When was her last blood tests carried out?How about urine routine?? Did they ever do ANA or ENA profile?

4. When can you seek earliest appointment with a rheumatologist?

Do let me know these queries. I would guide you further from here and seek a best solution we can

Regards
