Are Fever, Sore Throat And Swollen Glands Signs Of Throat Infection?

Question: Not sure if I should go to the doctor. I have a fever of 101.8, swollen glands and some throat soreness, but no other system, expect very tired. Daughter is on an antibiotic for either a throat infection or ear infection both looked red on her..
Brief Answer:
Seems URTI.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I can understand your concern.
It seems that you have also caught Upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) that you might have caught from your daughter.
Swollen lymph nodes signifies that your have Viral infection that might be complicated by streptococcal sore throat.
I suppose you should see your doctor and if he feels it's streptococcal he would start you on antibiotics like Azithromycin or Amoxycillin.
Till then you can take Paracetamol and Levocetrizine for symptomatic relief.
I would highly recommend you to do warm saline gargles.
I hope it helps you.
If you have any further query, please ask me.
Regards
