Brief Answer: Yes, but monitor for signs of infection Detailed Answer: Dear XXXXXXX Thanks for the query. Indeed, ear piercing can be quite a stressful experience, and for sure can be associated with headaches, mostly muscle tension headaches, that should get better as days go by. Now, the only thing to be careful for is to detect any signs of local infection after the piercing, such as ear lobe pain, redness, pus or yucky discharge, or fevers. Good local hygiene with soap and water everyday should sufice to prevent infection. Hope this helps wish you the best, Dr Brenes-Salazar MD Mayo Clinic MN
