Are Heart Stents Clearly Seen In CT Scan?
Yes visualized. Not to worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr. Jyothi BL and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. In most of the cases, cardiac CT angiography ( CT scan with contrast) will detect the amount of stenosis in the stent. The stents are specifically not visible separately. But, whether there is any stenosis in the stents or anywhere else, can be seen through this method.
2. Calcium deposits in coronary arteries, is normal at this age due to deposition of calcium in atherosclerotic plaques (dystrophic calcification) and also in aging arteries (monckeberg medial sclerosis).
3. Not to worry, if there was any amount of stenosis inside or any where outside stent, you would have been informed and next course of action would have been told. Do not be concerned about this.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
