irregular cycles normal for you
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for contacting HCM with your medical questions.
I see that you have been having irregular cycles ever since you started periods in you teens. If this has been going on since then and does not cause you pain or discomfort then this is what your body does.
But this could be a sign of polycystic ovaries where the ovaries do not completely develop each egg so you get small cysts on your ovaries and irregular periods. To determine if you have Polycystic ovaries you need to have an vaginal ultrasound to visualize your ovaries.
If you do have polycystic ovaries then you are at greater risk for developing diabetes and infertility. I recommend to be sure about your diagnoses that you seek a GYN specialist and have your ovaries imaged.
This condition can be treated with medication and you can also get normal cycles or no cycles if you start on oral contraceptive pills.
But I can reassure you that at this time none of this requires immediate intervention or treatment.
I hope I answered your question. Please contact HCM again with your health related concerns and questions
