Are Itchy Bumps Around The Labia Minora Along With Fishy Odor Due To An Infection?
Question: I started spotting a few days ago and put a pad on. A few hours later I started itching. After work when I took a shower I felt that my labia minora is rough and has tiny bumps along both sides. It's swollen and red. I have watery white discharge and a fishy foul odor coming from my vagina. The itch and burn is only on my labia minora. It's been two days since I've discovered my symptoms. I also have had the Mirena IUD for four months. Does this sound like a yeast infection, BV, or herpes?
Brief Answer:
Can be bacterial vaginosis or Herpes.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The symptoms that you are having are likely to be related to bacterial vaginosis. Oral broad spectrum antibiotics and anti inflammtories can help after a vaginal swab culture to confirm the diagnosis. In case the tiny bumps are filled with watery discharge then Herpes is likely. Do consult your gynecologist for proepr diagnosis and treatment.
