Are Lesions With Residual Discoloration On The Upper Part Of The Chest Of A Child A Serious Concern?

*********** Please forward this query to Dr XXXXXXX XXXXXXX who has answered my question earlier and he is aware of this issue ****************
Hi Sir ,
I have shared the pictures of my Baby and exactly today is the 3rd week ( 21 days from date of injury ) . We stopped antibiotic since 5 days .
Currently we are giving only Multivitamin and we are only applying Aveno Cream at the injury area every couple of hours and also we are not taking him out in the Sun and avoiding Sun .
Query :
How is the healing going on as per the pictures :
When can we expect the full skin ?
Does he get scars ?
Can we avoid scars by applying any ointment ?
Can we apply Soap at injured area during bath ?
WHat precuations can we take to avoid scars ?
Do you want us to apply Aveno Cream or Cocnut Oil which would help him healing faster ?
Don't worry, continue applying coconut oil
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have seen the images and I am glad to tell you that healing pattern is very nice.
The upper part of chest lesion which is slightly more pinkish may have some residual discoloration of skin but other areas are healing very well and skin will be normal in those areas.
The skin lesion of face is almost completely healed and only pigmentation process is remaining.
After seeing the image I don't think there will be any residual scar. So you need not to worry about that.
There are some re-pigmentation cream but not with very good results. Even this may cause irritation. Aveeno is a moisturizer cream only. I suggest you to apply coconut oil to keep the area moist. You may apply baby soap as it has less irritant effect.
I hope within next 10 days there will be complete skin regeneration including the pigmentation.
I hope this helps. Wishing for good health of your baby.
Regards
