Are Multiple Bowel Movements Along With Redness On Face Side Effects Of Cipro?

Question: My husband was given cipro about an hour and a half ago. He has had 2 bowel movements and his face, hands, and neck are bright red. Is this a reaction to cipro? And what do we do? We have called his dr. What can we do at home?
Brief Answer:
Yes, this is certainly a reaction to cipro.
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this. It is certainly a reaction to Cipro. I will recommend that you observe this the next time he takes the drug but this often fails to repeat and does not necessarily requires the drug to be discontinued. Should this happen again, please stop and request for a new drug.
I hope this helps: I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Is there anything we can do for this at home or should I take him to the emergency room? What would they do for him there?
Brief Answer:
Drink much fluids and monitor only.
Detailed Answer:
There is no reason to go to the ER now unless there is something serious like breathing difficulties, profuse vomiting, etc. If he is stable but for this redness, drinking much fluids and rest is all that is advised.
I hope this helps. Keep me posted if there is anything disturbing.
