Question: I have recently had a foot surgery and have been laid up for a little over 3 weeks. Are my symptoms of severe nausea and sweats something that I should worry about?
Brief Answer:
It is a cause of worry.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If you are having nausea and sweating 3 weeks after surgery then it is a cause for worry.
It could be a sign of infection , or metabolic disease.
I would suggest check up by your surgeon ASAP. In the meantime, get your blood counts and blood sugar levels.
Thanks for the questions. Please feel free to ask any other question.

I have recently had blood work done for some other issues thinking it was hormones. I had a Hysterectomy 12/23/16. There were no answers there but was told platelet count was low? Could this be a factor? Thank you for your information and I will check in with my orthopedic surgeon tomorrow. I just do not want to be the patient that runs to a doctor for every ache. I have had VRE, MRSA, and C-Diff last year. So I definitely know about infection. Thank you for your time.
Brief Answer:
hormonal changes could be a cause.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Low platelet count is generally not the cause of nausea and sweating.
Hormonal changes could be a cause but post operatively I would like to rule out any operative complications first.
Thanks
