Are Numbness In Fingers, Sore Throat And Swollen Feet Signs Of Tamiflu?

Question: I had a high fever this passed wednesday(around 102 or more, flaky thermometer) I sweated it out Wednesday night. During that night my fingers on both hands ( except thumbs) became numb/tingly for a while. I thought it was due to my c4-c-5 herniated disks and t12 t13 bulging disk(can remember which ones are herniated or bulging). Since I was laying around about due to the fever I thought I might have put too much pressure on the elbows which usually cause my pinky and ring finger only, to go numb. They came back to normal later that evening and the fever broke. Thursday I started feeling a little sore throat the and a little tingly in my finger tips. By this morning my fingers were very sensitive to warm/hot water and to touch. I thought I mite have felt something on the bottom of my feet. Well tonight the souls of my feet are in pain and are red. Also my hands and fingers have red little dots and spots on them. The whole hand is quite red as if I have been sun burned. My feet are red as well. It's a little hard to walk. Can you help? My doctor called in tamiflu and some antibiotics based on what I explained to him through the nurse. I also have a sore throat. It is painful to swallow. Are these flu type symptoms? Feet and fingertips?

I am suspecting viral fever and as you have upper respiratory symptoms, most common viral infection causing such symptoms will be the flu virus.

You have been correctly prescribed with Tamiflu for the same. Antibiotics have been prescribed to prevent secondary bacterial infection.

Please continue the treatment and complete the full course of antivirals and antibiotics prescribed.

Coming to your present symptoms like tingling and redness of hands and legs, I am suspecting menopause considering your age.

Such symptoms are also common in orthopedic illnesses like arthritis.

I suggest for now you finish your prescribed medications and then get a gynecological and orthopedic opinion.
