Question: I have been studying the symptoms of fibromyalia and I am convinced that is what I have. I had my yearly physical this past December and for some reason my doctor, with whom I have been a patient for years, can not seem to diagnose me. I have and had have a tremendous amount of stress in my life, ache all over, just recently my entire body is sore to the touch, no energy, depressed, anxious, moody, numbness in my hands and feet and it hurts for my husband to try to massage. I need to begin some type of exercise regime but I really do not feel good so it is hard for me to get motivated. Any suggestions?

Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Regarding to your symptoms, they could be related to fibromyalgia, however a diagnosis by your Doctor is needed to confirm it.

Anyway, exercise regularly actually is one of the possible ways to improve your symptoms.

Exercise may increase the pain initially, but improvement comes with time.

Exercises used in such cases include biking, walking, swimming and water exercises, or aerobics.

Besides exercising, discussing your concerns with a counselor and reducing stress are important points to achieve improvement.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Thank you. I have discussed my concerns with a counselor and she offered very few suggestions. Matter of fact, she was overwhelmed with the events in my life that has caused ne so much stress. Any suggestions for a diet or vitamin supplement that might help?
