Are Pain And Bloating In The Upper Abdomen Associated With Pre-existing Respiratory Infection?

default
Posted on Thu, 20 Apr 2023
Question: Have pain and bloating in upper abdomin on middle left. I also have a respiratory infection which I am taking an antibiotic - Avelox and now prednisone for inflammation. I can here the cracklings in my left lower lung near the area which bloats and hurts. I’ve had the bloating &pain before without the respiratory issues. So I’m guessing It’s something close to that part of the lung so that when it bloats/inflames it exacerbated the respiratory stuff. Any help is narrowing down the area or specialist I should see would be appreciated. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Please do the following.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

According to the history, you provide no I don't think this pain is related to a lung infection.

It might be that there are gases in your intestines which cause the bloating and the hurting.

If you were my patient I would recommend you to do only an abdominal ultrasound to see the intestines and nothing more.

Sometimes the antibiotics may cause these symptoms.

Nevertheless, don't worry it will pass after you finish the treatment.

Hope to have been helpful.
