Are Persistent Fever, Nose Congestion And Cough In Children Symptoms Of Flu?

Question: my 6 yr old has had a fever for 4 days with bad congestion and cough. this morning he woke up with one red eye and dranage in that eye. Fever running around 101.5 steady. I'm thinking it's the flu but not sure.

I agree that this is a viral illness. Whether or not it is the flu can't be fully determined without a flu test. However, in either case, he is already on day #4 of the ilness and most viral illnesses, including flu, will resolve in 7-10 days.
Temperature control, hydration, and rest, is the treatment for this. Over the next few days you will likely note improvement as the illness resolves.
