Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the atypical moles removed.

Let me first reassure you that your atypical moles as only the clinical diagnosis and not at all related to melanoma.

To tell you scientifically and medially regarding moles- We have with us the cells known as melanocytes in the skin which gives color to the skin. At some places these are naturally and genetically more in number. At these places these proliferates inside the skin and forms the moles. It may appear any time after birth and is more common in people with white skin.

Generally these are not having any symptom and are seen as cosmetic problem only but some times these can be seen with caution. There are certain specific feature which should be known to you :

1. If you feel any itching or burning or pain in any mole.
2. Any kind irregular borders in your mole.
3. Any variegated (different) colors you observed in your mole.
4. A size more than pencil eraser or 6mm size.

So, above points should always be checked and if find something like that or anything unusual then immediately should report to the doctor.
In your case no any risk factor is present and also these were size of a dot so males totally impossible for the clinical diagnosis of mole.

Overall you should know that moles are simple genetical thing present in everyone but only varying in number and size from person to person.

I hope these information's will help you. If you have further queries I will be happy to help.

Detailed Answer:
Dear young lady,

Welcome again to the forum and thanks a lot for your swift response.

Let me again reassure you that your moles had got no relation to melanoma.

Melanoma is a totally different term than a typical moles. There is no direct relation of atypical mole with melanomas.

In your case an important factor is your age group with no family history.

Melanomas are generally seen after the post middle age group that is 50 years of age. You are young lady of 37 years which makes unlikely possibility of melanoma.

Supporting the above issue in.positive manner is your negative family history making totally impossible to have any relationship with melanomas.

A biopsy report of atypical mole is a very common diagnosis and is always to be correlated clinically.I quite often see such kind of histopathological reports and it is the clinical thing which is most important in seeing anything with suspicion.

I can see that none of the risk factor is present in your case and the picture is crystal clear that you have no possibility of getting melanoma.

I hope these informations will relax your mind. I will be glad to guide you any further.

With regards,

Brief Answer:
The tendency is negligible without risk factors.

Detailed Answer:
Hello young lady,

Welcome again to the forum.

Regarding the possibity of melanona in atypical moles:

Academically speaking almost 1 in 100 cases can have this possibility. But a reassuring part is that those 1 percent have various risk factors involved in the same which I have enumerated in previous XXXXXXX You can very well note that you do not have even a single risk factor involved.

More reassuring fact is that almost 2 to 8 percent of general population van have atypical moles. So is quite common to find atypical moles and in those cases with atypical moles too only cases where there is risk factor involved are actually have the tendency.

In my own clinical practice I have never seen any case of melanoma in atypical moles without any risk factors involved. It is only where there is one or the other risk factor is present.

So jus relax yourself and do not worry.

My all best wishes for your healthy life.
