Are Red Spots On Penis Head Post Protected Sex Symptoms Of Herpes?

Question: I had red spots in my penis head after protected sex. I had visited the doctor this Saturday and doctor checked and mentioned she feels the red spots are some infection candida and she doesn't suspect this as herpes. She has asked me to apply the clotrimazole cream and now after 2 days my red spots are going away! I would like to confirm with any doctor here if my red spots are going away using the cream this is not herpes right? But to confirm I have asked for a herpes test and now I'm waiting for the results! I am confused !! Worried should I be worried if he cream is working?

It doesn't seem that you have anything to worry about.Genital herpes has a very typical clinical presentation and it is very unlikely for a doctor to miss the diagnosis.It presents with lesions ,which look like water-filled blisters.
Red spots are usually not a sign of herpes.
The fact that these spots are going away after using clotrimazole cream is very indicative for a fungal infection.This also serves to confirm the diagnosis.
If it was herpes ,the antifungal cream wouldn't have any effect on the spots.

Hello doctor how many days it takes for clotrimazole to clear the spots , my spots are almost cleared , I also feel some inflammation or very light bump . Is this normal ? Or is this because I am applying a thick layer of this cream?

Usually the symptoms improve after 2-3 days of treatment but it may take up to 1-2 weeks for the infection to clear off completely.Usually the treatment continues 3-4 days after all the symptoms has gone away.

One more dumb question when I look really really close I can see the red spots still there like fading away it's been 3 days now is this how this red spots go slowly fading out? I am really sorry for these questions!
