Question: Are sensory problems characteristic of a neurological condition or could they be a part of a psychological problem? I know that they could be caused by autism but I've also heard that adhd could cause similar issues?

Brief Answer:
Sensory symptoms can be seen in anxiety

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Sensory problems can occur in an individual because of neurological issue but can even occur due to a psychological issue. Yes in autism or any Pervasive Developmental disorders.

In ADHD mild sensory issues can occur but they are not presenting symptoms or core symptoms of ADHD. Slight restlessness, underlying anxiety etc are seen in ADHD and this could result in sensory symptoms or weird sensations.

Thanks
