Question: MY ADDENDUM: THE ARE SEVERAL FOCAL AREAS OF MILD WALL THICKENING INVOLVING THE PROXIMAL ASCENDING COLON. ALL OF WHICH MY BE RELATED TO UNDERDISTENTION (UNDER DISTENTION)..
IS THIS COLON CANCER?

It can be coilitis or inflammatory bowel disease.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Mild bowel wall thickening may be seen in both ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, indicating acute, active inflammatory bowel disease Second possibility is that it could be coilitis(meaning inflammation).
The second step would be to perform a colonoscopy and to take out sample of the inflammed tissue for biopsy;In which the sample would be investigated under a high power microscope to find out exact cause of the disease.
Chances of it being colon cancer are less as colon cancer presents with a number of symptoms like change in bowel habit,Blood in stools etc along with pathological finding.
However exact answer could be given only after a microscopic examination after colonoscopy.
