Are Sperms Present In Pre-ejaculatory Fluid?

default
Posted on Sat, 29 Aug 2015
Question: Is there really sperm in preejaculatory fluid. I know there can be and also no there isn't most of the time. I know people who use the pullout method for years and never fell pregnant. All over the internet is nothing but mixed results even in the few studies done! Everyone knows its possible. But what are the real odds. It seems as most guys dont have sperm in pre fluid. And if they even have sperm in it it seems like 95% of the time they don't?

Brief Answer:
It contains few sperms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Yes. The pre ejaculatory fluid does not contain sperm 95% of times but it depends on the time since last ejaculation and if the guy passed urine after the last ejaculation. Urination flushes the left over sperms from the previous ejaculations. But using pull out method for contraception has a failure rate as high as 30%. It is better to use a surer method of contraception.

Yes absolutely agree there are better forms of BC. I guess my biggest issue is it works 95% of the time if done right. Why do some people say it doesn't work. I've seen it work for years and you literally just said it does to an extent. Obviously its not the best choice in the book but if you do it right she might get pregnant maybe 4 outa 100 times is what I read. Honestly that's only 2% less effective than condoms and 3% less then birth control pills is that accurate. I read in the real world withdrawal has 27% failure rate but mostly from human error obviously it could be hard to control yourself at full climax is this accurate

I ask this question because my college professor said precum is even more sperm rich than semen. I told him that's not true. I think I'm right because doing nothing at all has 90% failure rate in a year and at most withdrawal has 30% failure rate as you said half of that easily from human error. I think maybe he was using that as a scare tactic to tell everyone always use protection which is true but this stuff is important and people need to know the Reith

Brief Answer:
Precum contains lesser sperms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Precum contains lesser number of sperms but withdrawal method has a failure rate of 30%- not only because of wrong procedure or human error but also due to precum.
The exact percentage is difficult to calculate as we can never know what was the cause of pregnancy- error or precum. So it is better to use a protection.
Hope my answer is helpful.
