Question: experiencing a lot of stomach problems. right after eating i can have large build ups of gas and bloating. sometimes it becomes so much that i experience heart palapatations which makes the whole experience worse. using 7-up and sometimes dry toast helps to expel the gas and reduce and
eliminate the symptoms......is this IBS...or an ulcer or something else? i have had a stressful life and have had some episodes of anxiety and depression.

Brief Answer:
Abdominal ultrasound, colonoscopy, diet and exercise, See Dr

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

I understand this can be very disturbing at some point. You are right stress can impact your digestion, especially this changes your appetite and influences the quality of food you eat. Poor fruit diet, low vegetable content foods and lack of exercise at times could explain these.

Irritable bowel syndrome is an option in this case. However, it is important to exclude other serious organic causes like polyps or colon cancer first. Peptic ulcer disease would generally be associated with pain in the upper region of the abdomen generally irradiating to the back. In case they were causing these symptoms, we would have expected that you vomit most of the time after eating which is not the case here.

I suggest you get a good abdominal ultrasound done, including a colonoscopy and occult blood test in stool. IN case they all come back normal hopefully, IBS should be considered and treated accordingly.

For now, excluding polyps, colon tumors or an abdominal mass or condition remains urgent.

Thanks and kind regards as I wish you the best of health.

Brief Answer:
an Electrocardiogramme (EKG) needs to be done

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query

I am afraid these conditions might not be related. I suggest an electrocardiogramme EKG be done to properly ascertain the heart rate and rhythm first .

Thanks and kind regards as I wish you the best of health.
