Brief Answer:
I think shingles can be the cause of these symptoms.
Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
I think shingles can be the cause of these symptoms.
Shingle is a nervous system disease. It might cause swelling lymph nodes and also hearing loss. The hearing loss can be temporary or continue in time.
I suggest for your brother to continue a cure of prescribed antiviral drugs.
I also suggest a physical examination of an ENT specialist and an audiogram.
Hope my answer was helpful.
Take care.
