Are There Any Blood Tests That Detect Cancer?
Question: Hi Doctor, i have always worries of cancer, is there a certain blood test that can detect presence of cancer cells (benign or malignant) in any where in the body?
I had injury in my knee long time ago, just a simple injury from falling down while playing football ,the injury was an external injury with slight bleeding, i treated it by applying antibiotic ointment. now the injury is covered well however when i stand for long time i feel like itchy pain in that area, it subsides when i sit down. do i need medical check up for my knee? what doctor should i go to ? dermatologist ??
I have no any medical issues, i'm a young man with good health, i do however smoke.

Brief Answer:
No blood tests for cancer screening
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care questions
Your first question is there any blood tests for screening for cancer. There are no tests that actually screen for cancer. When you are older in your 50s there is a test for prostate cancer but it is not reliable and by the time you get to be 50 there maybe other tests.
The best thing you can do to reduce your risk of cancer is stop smoking.
The itching from your wound is normal and nothing to be alarmed about. I would not recommend any additional treatments or doctor visits
I hope I answered your questions. Please contact us again if you have any further questions
