Brief Answer:
Basic ECG is same.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir
There is only one type of ECG scan. It is a 12 lead ECG. However there are extensions of this application which are used for specific purpose and specific information. Like "long leads" are used to detect rhythm disorders or "Signal averaged" ECG is used for Late potential detection.
Normally repeat ECG scans are done to look for dynamic/ progressive changes. They may also be done in case of suspicion of wrongly placed leads or some other technical mistake. It depends upon the clinical scenario too.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder
