There are two ways to deal with these.
One is cognitive behavioral therapy and coping skills training which includes role playing, assertiveness training, relaxation exercises, practicing sleep hygiene and regular exercise. These are done under guidance of psychotherapist, counsellor or psychiatrist.
Second type is stress reduction with meditation. I find Breathing based meditation very effective in PTSD. It can be learnt in a short program and practiced daily to have a trauma-free mind.
