Question: I am currently taking Naproxen (500 mg twice a day) for 2 weeks. My doctor wants to see if this will help my thigh/knee pain. I will also be resuming PT tomorrow. I am considering taking curcumin for arthritis. I presently take Fluoxetine, Levothyroxine, Hydrochlorothiazide, Amlodipine and Irbesartan. Are you aware of any contradictions with the medicines I take if I start the curcumin?

Brief Answer:
Interaction with naproxen

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Curcumin may interact with naproxen and increase risk of bleeding as they both act to slow the blood clotting process.. I would recommend that you inform your doctor that you are intending to use Curcumin in order to adjust the dose of naproxen.. However, it is not documented to interact with any of the other medications you are taking.

I hope you find this helpful.
