Question: As with COVID, patients needing ICU care and ventilated. Patient is Critical, currently at 40% o2 and peep of 5, lung x-ray shows pneumonia which hasn't really changed in the last 2-3 weeks. The DDimer and CRP fluctuates a lot. She had cytokine storm which has been treated. She is not on steroids or paralytics just heavy sedation. She contacted a bacterial pneumonia which in hospital and is being treated with broad spectrum antibiotics. They have tried to wean her off ventilator but she gets too agitated and they increase sedation. She has been intubated since 12/31 and tracheostomy has been scheduled 5 days for now. What's her prognosis?

Generally, with a patient that has improved being able to maintain an 02 sat in the 90s with 40% the lungs must have somewhat recovered partially?
