At What Point Should I Be Concerned About An Elevated
Question: At what point should I be concerned about an elevated heart rate? I have been laying down for almost an hour now and can’t get it to drop below 120bpm
Brief Answer:
No need to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
If there is no associated pain in chest, breathing difficulties or dizziness then you should not be worried since in most cases this is just temporary elevation of HR which may be caused by certain activities, drinks such as coffee or alcohol or even some food. If you are dehydrated and also, in case of respiratory infection or other infections, HR may be raised.
I suggest to rest and wait, drink some fluids, there is no need to lay down, just dont do physical activity till HR normalizes.
If you feel other symptoms as mentioned, you should see doctor.
Wish you good health. Regards
