Awakened This Morning With A Pocket Of Fluid Under Left
![default](/r/images/default.png)
most cases resolve in a few days
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Unilateral swelling can be due to different possible causes, some of the causes are : (1) infection
(2) trauma (3) allergy (4) blocked tear duct (5)sleep disturbance or excess salt intake -these two would normally affect both eyes
With allergy, itching would be expected to be present, if itching is present then the use of allergy drops along with eye tears would help. The tears help to flush the allergy out of the eye.
Eg if allergy drops eg emadine, elestat, pataday
With an infection there may be redness and increased warmth, in some cases a discharge may be present as well.
Antibiotic drops can be used.
If there is no trauma then the swelling may be due to a blocked duct, though there are some other causes
This tends to resolve on its own in many persons in a few days but if it is very disturbing then a warm compress to the area for 10 to 15 mins , 2 to 3 times a day may help
Some persons use a tea bag.
If there is any pain then using an anti inflammatory medication would help reduce the pain and swelling eg ibuprofen, naproxen etc
i hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
