BI Went Out Of State To Visit My Family. Stayed
Several possible causes considered and explanations given
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The history with the marijuana and possible ingestion of it might explain the confusion and possible seizures, on the other hand, other causes should be considered as well.
Whenever a patient has seizures the first thing we try to rule out is a brain mass or hemorrhage and this is what the doctors have ruled out in your case with the MRI and the brain checks. MRI is very important in these cases and you have already had it, some other tests the doctors do are EEG and in some cases lumbar puncture to rule out possible infections as well (indicated in specific cases, the examining doctor decides if it is needed or not).
There are other causes of the seizures as well, especially at your age.
It is important to have some blood checks as well and a good heart examination to make sure all is well with these as well.
- Blood tests that might be good to do are: CBC, ERS, electrolytes, TSH, liver function tests, creatinine, glucose, lipids etc
- A heart check would be done with an ECG and heart ultrasound and I would say an ultrasound of the neck arteries can be considered to rule out narrowing. Just to make sure there are no small thrombi blocking arteries here and there in the brain and cause transient ischemic brain attacks which may be in some cases warning signs for more important conditions.
If all of these tests come out normal and you are improving then very likely there is nothing to worry and you need to follow up with your doctor as recommended to make sure all is well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
