Bleeding From Buttocks During Loose Motions, Getting Worse. Why Is It Happening Now And Then? Is It Serious?
he mentions he's also felt constipation and bowel pain (which has varied on severity). he always suffers bowel discomfort. he also gets spontaneous severe shooting pains that cause him to lift him off his feet, and they can last 10-20 seconds. he has also been experiencing pain on his penis. the sensation on his penis has felt like red hot burning shooting excruciating pain going through the urethra. However, he experienced another episode this morning. he woke up and his underwear was wet with blood, he said it felt 'like a light accident' but when he looked it was blood. he went to the bathroom to clean up and when he was wiping the blood soaked through to the tip of his fingers. He has been in discomfort since this since then today. He sometimes needs to lay on his side to ease it off. Please help us. I am devastated and worried sick. When he went to the doctor as i mentioned before they told him he was okay but it doesnt seem like that.
Thanks for posting your query.
Profuse bleeding from anus can be most commonly due to hemorrhoids or piles which occurs as a complication of constipation and straining. If so it can be easily diagnosed by physical examination by his doctor and treated with medications and minor surgical procedure.
But since the bleeding is so severe , more significant causes like infection or proctitis, malignancy of colon, underlying bleeding disorder should be ruled out.
Please do not neglect such profuse bleeding since it can result in blood loss anemia further worsening his health. He should consult a general surgeon and undergo proctoscopy i.e examination of anus and rectum, if needed a colonscopy and a thorough general and abdominal examination to confirm his diagnosis.
For narrowing down the possibilities his doctor might order certain investigations like blood counts, bleeding profile, liver function tests ,xrays or ultrasound abdomen etc.
Please do not panic as it is most probably a minor problem like bleeding hemorrhoids assuming he has been told by the doctor that its ok.He will probably need a minor pile banding or excision
surgery if the diagnosis is confirmed.
However it is advisable he seek prompt surgical consultation to prevent any further blood loss.
Meanwhile he should eat a high fibre diet and drink plenty of water to prevent constipation and straining at stools.Laxatives might provide temporary relief.
Hope I have answered your query.
