Bp 125/82 85 Bpm. No Chest Pain . However I
Could be a side effect of Xanax or low electrolyte levels
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have gone through your concerns.
Since you have written you are on anti anxiety pill Xanax on current medications, I would like to know have you consulted a psychiatrist regarding Xanax (Alprazolam) also could you tell me the dose you are taking.
One of the side effects of Xanax is muscle twitching so it could be due to that.
Another reason could be you have cut out salt and sugars from your diet . Muscle twitching can occur due to electrolyte imbalance too.
Kindly consult a physician so that blood electrolyte levels can be tested .
Please take oral rehydration salt immediatedly available over the counter so that if the twitching is due to low sodium or potassium levels it will get replenished and the symptoms will subside.
Also consult a psychiatrist for correct dosage and the side effect of muscle twitching related to Xanax. They may reduce the dosage or change the medication.
If you have any more questions kindly let me know.

Kindly take the oral rehydration salts and visit a psychiatrist.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for replying . Tablet Xanax 0.5mg once a day is a appropriate medication.
So, you can try taking oral rehydration salts to replenish the electrolytes and see .
If the muscle twitch still persists ,it is advisable to consult a psychiatrist for change of medication or reduction of the dose to 0.25mg.
It is very essential that you should not straight away cut off salts. basic salts like sodiu and potassium are very important to maintain normal functions of the body. Kindly consult a physician as i mentioned earlier for serum electrolyte levels as low electrolytes may cause muscle twitching.
