Burning Feeling Behind My Underarm Leading To Chest Area

default
Posted on Tue, 21 May 2024
Question: I get burning feeling behind my underarm (upper back) leading to my chest area. I feel a sense of fullness in my back and chest after eating. Sometimes I get palpitation too during these episodes. Especially breakfast. This feeling reduces after lunch and dinner. If I walk after eating- these symptoms get aggravated. The subside when I sit or stop movement. I have done endoscopy, it showed mild GERD. I have done the heart Troponin test, and ECG - all clear. I have done MRI of my cervical spine that shows a herniated mild disc bulge- possibly nerve issue. When I get the burning sensation in my upper back and chest- it leads to weakness of the arms and ring and index fingers. My hands also go cold during the episode. I have met a neurologist who suggested I take Neurontin (gabapentin). The gastro asked me to take Ganaton before breakfast. I have a titanium marker in my left breast after the mammogram was done- all clear (this was in 2022). I am 50 years old - with one ovary, had hysterectomy in 2016. The gynac said these are menopause symptoms. My movement is restricted. I need help in diagnosing what the issue is. Why does eating food aggravate my symptoms, why does movement aggravate my symptoms?

Brief Answer:
Treatment of gastritis should be added

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Your endoscopy report showed enteral gastritis for which treatment is needed that can be taken lansoperazole twice daily as infection is not shown but still I will suggest urea breath test for h. Pylori infection should be done so that proper antibiotics course can be completed and you can also check with gastroenterologist for that. And also send iron ,heamoglobin, cbc reports .avoid any junk food smoking and alcohol and dietician can make your schedule too.eat fruits vegetables amla, aloevera XXXXXXX and drink lots of water too. Your cholesterol levels are high so statins should be started by your treating physiccian and physical exercise as much you can do like yoga or XXXXXXX technique etc too are helpful.avoid totally non-veg food.calcium levels should be done for other symptoms .your cervical findings suggest movement problems too pain can be reduced by local spray,s but surgery is ultimately treatment.if you can explain specifically which kind of movement are difficult for you can be helpful.hope this helps smile more and be happy.
Thanks.
