Burning Sensation In The Throat Cough While Having Food And Not Getting The Food Taste

Hello,
Detailed Answer:
Hello, XXXXXXX welcome to Ask a doctor services. I have read your question.
As per your medical history you do not have history of any past illness or allergy. You are presently uncomfortable with burning sensation in the throat.
The commonest cause of burning sensation in the throat is acid reflux, cold or strep. throat. Dryness in the mucosa can also cause such symptoms.
You are suggested to stay well hydrated. Take boiled water, soup, fluids so that you are not dehydrated. Stay away from pollution, smoke, dust, etc.
Avoid taking spicy, oily food, junk food as they may trigger acid reflux. PPI's ( proton pump inhibitors) and taking antihistamine at bed time will effectively reduce symptoms.
Take home made food at proper time, do not skip meals. Since you are not getting proper taste of food, gargle your throat with warm salt water at least three times a day.
You are also not feeling hungry & are unable to eat. Loss of appetite may occur due to irritation in the throat ( you can get a strep throat test done), bloating/ acidity, liver dysfunction. Get clinically examined.
You are suggested to take more liquid or semi solid food like oat meal, porridge, khichri so that you do not hurt your throat. Avoid eating anything raw for a couple of days, take food, fruit & vegetables that are well cooked to reduce load on your liver. Stay away from addictions if any.
Take food that can be easily digested ( eg, well cooked lean meat over red meat). Take quality sleep to help better metabolism. Avoid oily, hot spicy food. Take boiled food for a couple of days.
Get liver function tests done at the earliest to detect any liver problem. Nausea & vomiting sensation may be indicative of developing liver problem.
Since you are getting yellow phlegm, it is indicative that you have some throat infection. Get sputum test, throat swab tests done. You may need a course of antibiotics. However, steam inhalation & gargling are effective & will give relieve.
Hope I have answered your question. Tell me if you need any further assistance. Take care.
Regards,
