Hi
No I would not advised to take further treatment. I advised you to get Tzanck smear from the lesion done to rule out HSV. You can apply topical antiviral agents on the lesion.

Hi
You can buy any over the counter antiviral agent containing acyclovir. Apply thrice a day. Tzanck smear will help visualize the virus in the lesion. Treatment won't be effected.

Hi
Itching is sign of healing. Do not worry and remember not to scratch the rashes. No oral treatment needed. Yes cetrizine will be beneficial for itching.

thank you. will follow ur advise

Doc, this itchy feeling across various part of body is not stopping and increases in the evening. Feeling is so much that I end up itchy the body portions and the skin patch of 3-4 inch turns red, but after a while the itchy feeling from that body area goes away and within next 30-45 mins the skin redness also disappears there are no boils or lesions... but the itchy feeling starts on another part of my body. And this itching is not happening that much in the areas where boils/ lesions were/ are present.
This is going on for last 4-5 days.... are these side effects for Herparex 400 or Minolux that I took for 10 days... what do I do?
And the feeling subsides within 1-2 hours of me taking Allegra 180 (have been taking Allegra for last 2 days - 1 tablet in the night after itching becomes severe and unable to stop)

Hi
If itching severe then take antihistamines. You can stop the drugs and there will be no side effects. Do not irritate the lesion. Stop the drugs and observe for few days for itching. If it does not stop then I would suggest you to get skin scrapping to look for fungal elements.
Take care
