Can Acyclovir Be Taken For Treating Blisters On Head And Anal Region?

Question: I got an epideral today, dexamethazone. I had a coritsone injection three weeks ago in my shoulder. I am having a round of hemorroids which I have been treating with hydocortisone suppossitories. Yesterday I noticed a blister near my anus. And now today I have two more. I am 5 almost and have had shingles on my head. I have also had herpes in my right eye 30 years ago. Had a great eye doctor that helped me through it, I was going to college at the time, lots of stress. I am under a lot of stress and I am thinking that those blisters might be either shingles or herpes. I have acyclovir tablets that I am thinking I should take. Is there a problem taking them following my epideral?
I can go to the doctor tomorrow but I want to start the acyclovir ASAP if it will curtail any more blisters from showing up.

Brief Answer:
Reasonable to take Acyclovir
Detailed Answer:
Good day
Noted your concern. If you feel that the blisters are shingles , then Acyclovir is okay.Even otherwise it is not a bad idea to take it until you can see a doctor who can examine and come to a conclusion. However it is important to seek early medical help. Steroids which you had recently can reduce the immunity transiently which can precipitate a herpes or shingles like lesion.
Until the time you see a doctor, it is quite reasonable to use Acyclovir since you have convincing past history .
