Can Adderall Cause Heart Failure?
Question: I am A 76yr old female. I have ADHD. I take a 25mg Adderall xr in the morning and a 15mg at 1:00 pm. I was told by a"friend" that I was to old to take Adderall. I am in great physical and mental shape. If I don't take my medication my family members and friends notice it instantly. I don't use any other medications Other than a .025mg of xanex (maybe 1or 2 a month) and 50mg med for high blood pressure. This "friend" claims that Adderall will cause heart failure.
Brief Answer:
Consultation.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Your friend is incorrect -- it is safe for people your age to take Adderall, assuming you have no underlying heart defects. It can raise blood pressure sometimes, but it sounds like you are having this monitored. You should be fine!
Hope I have answered your query.
