Can Amlodipine Besylate IG 238 Be Broken In Half And Taken?

Bestlate...says 10 on one side and 238 on the other.
Already take Bystolic, but after rather mild stroke yesterday hospital added the
amlodinepine....I want to use just half until sure of results.
My concern is the dizziness on the full amount, partly since I have had vertigo several times...not in recent months.
It is difficult to break Amlodipine Besylate IG 238 exactly into half
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.
1. Amlodipine Besylate has imprint IG 238 and not 10 238 and contains 5 mg amlodipine besylate.
2. Bystolic (nebivolol) belongs to a group of drugs called beta-blockers.
3. The adult dose of amlodipine is 5 mg once a day to start with and 2.5 mg is given only in fragile or patients with liver problems.
4. It is difficult to cut the Amlodipine Besylate IG 238 tablet into exactly two halves since the tablet has no marking. Therefore chances of taking a higher or lower dose when breaking the tablet is more.
5. You can discuss with the doctor and take specifically manufactured 2.5 mg tablets of Amlodipine Besylate till your results are confirmed.
Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.
Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.
