Brief Answer:
Amoxycillin and Dicloxacillin combination is good
Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Yes it is perfectly okay to take Amoxycillin and Dicloxaillin together. They both kill different types of bacteria. Amoxycillin alone is not enough in skin infections.
It is essential to include Dicloxacillin so that the most common skin bacteria causig infections ( staph aureaus) can be killed. Mupiocin for local application is also okay to contine along with it. The ER doctor's decision was right and rational. However, beware of loose stools while taking Amoxycillin/Docloxacillin combination. I recommend my patients to take fresh yogurt with probiotics when they take these antibitotics.

Thank you , I have a few more questions .I don"t have any pain in my foot and I want to get on my Treadmill ,but I was afraid of the sweat getting into my wound .Also I wanted to no if its safe to shower ..I was also told not to ware a bandage and a sock over the wound. The reason Im concren is I live in Vegas and from my experience with the doctor having been posative this is way I love this service.
Brief Answer:
Do not leave the wound open
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Please wait few more days before you start using treadmill. Moving your leg too much may delay wound healing. You can apply Mupirocin cream and then put a light, clean bandage. Do not leave it open. apply a plastic cover over bandage when you take the shower.
