Hi,

I am unaware of any robust clinical studies linking artificial sweeteners with kidney problem. Diabetes and high blood pressure are two markers that strongly effect kidneys. Off course, artificial sweeteners are not completely foul proof. It can marginally increased blood sugar level which can deter your diabetic control, thereby can lead to early renal problems.

Watch your sugar level and blood pressure; restrict sodium consumption; restrict pain killers and avoid junk food/beverages to keep your kidney healthy.

In brief, there is not clear evidence to prove artificial sweeteners can cause kidney problems directly.

Hope this answers your query. Let me know if you need clarifications.
