Can Atacand, Cartia, Clopidogrel And Amlodipine Be Taken Before Undergoing Botox Treatment?
Question: Tomorrow I am having some work done which includs fillers and botox..I have been asked to stop my blood thinners, but I do not know which ones they are..my blood pressure is quite high and I am on Atacand 30, Cartia, Amlopidine and Clopidogrel, could you please tell me apart from Cartia which is the otthere blood thinner I should stop today...thank you so much..XXXX XXXXXXX .XXXX
I had two stentz put in my heart in February this year 2015 and have felt fine until now my blood pressure does not seems to be controlled..I have just moved states and manged it all myself and not finished the unpacking as yet and wondered if that has contributed to higher than normal pressure...that is my background but tomorrow is my facial work with fillers and botox that I need to give up my thinners for ...I sent a note of what I am taking earlier... I know cartia is one thinner but please tell me is Clopidogrel or Amlodipine one as well

Hello
Thanks for the query
I am glad you have approached us before the surgery. Cartia is diltiazem it is not a blood thinner.
Among the list of tablets you have given only Clopidogrel is a blood thinner and it will require to be stopped. It is usually stopped about 5 days before the surgery, please confirm with your specialist before the procedure.
Amlodipine is for blood pressure and it is not a blood thinner.
