Question: While taking AMOX TR-K CLV 875-125 MG tablets twice a day for an ear infection, I experienced a Massive relentless "headache" at base of skull area and back of neck. This lasted for at least 8 days until 2 days after finishing this medication. Could this drug (Augmentin) have a bad interaction with any of the other meds that I take daily? These would include: Vyvanse 40 mg--1 capsule daily, Effexor XR 150 mg-- 1 capsule daily, Lisinopril 5 mg tab--1 daily, Valacyclovir 500 MG tab --1 daily, Hydroxychloroquine 200 mg, ADVAIR inhaler????

Brief Answer: Migrinous triggers, Needs psychiatric rehab Detailed Answer: Thank you for asking! Augmentin is just an antibiotic and is commonly used for ear infections. Ear infections are very common triggers for these migranous headaches and the fire is exaggerated by the fuels of ADHD stimulant, Antidepressants, An antihypertensive, old geriatric age, An antiviral and low dose antimalarials . SO basically ear infection has just made the psychiatric profile already at the edge further to trouble and headaches pound back. These are migrainous headaches and it is not the drug interaction but the border line alot on the plate personality and phase you are currently on. At that phase where you are, a strong psychiatric consult and a constant monitoring is by a psychiatrists for drugs dosages rescheduling and some rehabilitational therapies. So in nut shell ear infections are very strong triggers of migrainous headaches and a psychiatric helpdesk demanding personality and alot of meds make that probability more likely. All you need is to stay in touch with your psychiatrist and discuss the options for you. You have bigger crocodiles in your pond. This headache was just an innocuous fish gone. I hope it helps. Dont forget to close the discussion please. May the odds be ever in your favour. S Khan
