Can BP Increase From Skipping One Dose Of Benipack, Carca And Orvas?
Question: Hi,my father is a heart patient and suffered heart attack in 2013.Broadly his main artery was 40% blocked n one 100% n other 70%.
Doctors have put him on medications:
Benipeck 4mg twice a day
Carca 12.5mg twice a day
Nitrofix20 twice a day
Orvas,livogen n half lasix once a day
Last night he forgot to take benipack,Carca n Orvas.2day morning he complained of some headache n we checked his blood pressure.It was 202/102 n den we give him carca n benipack morning dose immediately post tea.
Then immediately his bp droped to 120/65.
Now its normal.My queries are
1)Is it possible that bp gets raised so much just because of one missed dose?
2)Should we do ecg n 2d echo again.
Last 2decho showed 55% Ef

After going through the medical details provided by you i can understand your concern for your fathers health and here i will try to answer your questio in a simple way.
1. YES its very much possible for the blood pressure to shoot when a dose is missed specially in a coronary artery disease patients.
2. According the the last echo report which you have mentioned the EF was 55% which is almost within normal range. So in my opinion if your father didn't had any chest pain or sweating or shortness of breath during the high bp then there is no need to do any test. However if tests were done 6 months back then you can repeat both ECG and Echo.
