Can Botox Be Used Again After Discontinuing It For One Year?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Hello,
For several years I used Botox for forehead lines and it worked beautifully. Gradually it stopped working and I was told that I "metabolized" it too quickly. I have now been away from it for a year or longer and I was wondering if I might try it again. I have also used Xeomin and Dysport which also do not work. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks very much

Brief Answer:
Go for botox
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
Body gets sensitized to botox and hence response decreases.
You have given a gap of one year thats enough for botox to start responding again.
Creams are usually not much helpful.
It's better to go for botox again.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.

Thank you so much for your response. As you know Botox is very expensive..
Have you had this "phenomenon" - happen with other patients where the botox starts to work again? I would be thrilled to try Botox again and would be so happy if it did work..... So a year is long enough to wait? THank you!

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the follow up.
Yes I understand your concern regarding cost of Botox.
I have few patients in whom Botox is working well after a drain out period of one year.
You can go for it.
Also discuss with your doctor regarding fillers, as the issue of Botox becoming inefficient will again pop up after two or three injections.
This is a major problem with Botox.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
