Question: I'm taking 500 mg of cephalexin 4 x a day for staff I'm having terrible joint pain and swelling in my foot and mostly toe similar to the gout what can I do to relieve the pain and swelling

Cephalexin is an antibiotic and it is used for bacterial infection of the skin. Since you have seen a doctor and got these medicines, the doctor must be considering cellulitis.
Have you had gout before? If you had, you should get a serum uric acid done.
The treatment would consist of anti inflammatory medicine like ibuprofen and if it is proven to be gout, colchicine in addition. Once the pain is controlled you should also add medicine like Febuxostat or Allopurinol to lower the uric acid level in the blood.
